We ate fresh Waimea strawberries, thanks to Nancy, fresh salad from the Ko's farm, pizza(Isaiah's favorite)tender rotisserie chicken, from Noelle, potato salad, and two kinds of cheese cake, New York style which took 7 hours, and a lovely little cheese cake that took 10 min. to make, then 3 hours in the fridge haha!
Oh, and adult guests enjoyed two kinds of home made wine from the famous Claudia Riley.

Isaiah got to show off the potato cannon he built himself. The cannon works well, especially if you like your potatoes to be flaming, and loud. He also let off a few fireworks. The young guests swam till late at night, and then had a sleepover.

I am sitting here waiting for the kids to finish Tae Kwon Do, pondering the meaning of life, and SNL came to mind. I am a little irritated with their Sarah Palin skit, but anyway, back in the day, there was "Deep Thoughts". Anyone remember "Deep Thoughts"?
When "Deep Thoughts" came out, there was no internet. The only one I could remember from Saturday Night Live was "The crows seem to be calling my name thought Caw."
Now we have the Interoweb, and we can look things up, like Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey, Kava, potato cannons, and how to play the koto
We must have been really stupid back when we had to read books, memorize things, and actually remember something.

Potato Cannon Continued....

Isaiah built the potato cannon, but it just needs the spark plug,some hair spray, and he will be ready to defend our family against marauding...French Fries? If you are using a potato as a weapon, who would your enemy be?

Potato Cannon

So we went to my parent's church picnic where there was a pie eating contest,food,a water slide,an egg toss,bingo,sling shot water balloon games, and to Isaiah's delight there was a potato cannon.
Isaiah was not the only 12 year old there, but he was the first 12 year old to appear when the man with the green Jeep arrived with the potato cannon. Notice in the picture there is a boy smiling next to the men with the cannon.That would be Isaiah. About 10 min. later there were about 30 kids crowded around the potato cannon man.
Isaiah is now saving his money to buy all the materials to build one.
